This year’s Rail Live event will be held on 18 and 19 June 2025 at Porterbrook’s Long Marston Rail Innovation Centre. Attending rail professionals will have the opportunity to network with peers, examine the latest products from suppliers, and connect with industry experts and benefit from their experience and insights across group discussions and seminars.
There will be three seminar theatres running across the two days of Rail Live, each with an individual focus – engineering, policy & leadership, and safety as covered in the Rail Safety Week conference. These seminar theatres will feature industry experts or panels made up of representatives from leading brands and organisations, all discussing current or pressing issues relevant to the entire sector.
Familiarise yourself with the agenda for the seminar theatres on Thursday 19 June – day two of Rail Live.
Day two of the engineering seminar theatre will see exploration of the ECTS roll out, how AI and machine learning could be used in maintenance, as well as how the rail industry must respond to climate change.
The policy & leadership theatre will be looking into rail reform and the long-term future of the railway, what GBR could learn from Scotland, the role of Government in creating a sustainable, successful future for the railway, freight operations, and the viability of an accessible railway.
The second day of Rail Live will feature the Rail Safety Week Conference exploring topics like the importance of accessibility for rail passengers, rail safety education for schools and how the industry can prevent trespass, antisocial behaviour and suicide.
Attending participants include representatives from groups and organisations like Network rail, Siemens Mobility, the Department of Transport and RIA; ensuring a range of perspectives and a wealth of expertise will be present for visitors to gain useful insights and practical advice for the benefit of their own activities.
