‘Skills, Employment and Education’ is listed as one of the seven strategic objectives for HS2 - a railway that’s expected to need 30,000 people to design and build.
This strategy commits HS2 Ltd to such things as “promoting transport infrastructure-related careers and encouraging young people to choose STEM subjects”, and using “procurement levers to generate wide-ranging skills, employment and education outcomes” - including bringing about apprenticeships.
