Achilles has been an audit partner to the UK rail industry for around two decades - developing and implementing the high standards of audit the industry requires. We are proud that we continue to lead the way in setting audit standards in this vital and safety critical industry.
All audit programmes are only as successful as the auditors that deliver that programme, and we believe at Achilles we have best in class auditors, regularly receiving positive feedback from the customers they work with. Our team of directly employed, qualified and skilled auditors have an average of over 20 years’ rail industry experience in disciplines as diverse as Signalling, On-track Plant and Civil Engineering. Each auditor has been specifically licensed to deliver the Link-Up audit programme and our dedicated team of quality checkers ensure the highest standards of audit data and reporting.
Having been audited and approved by Network Rail to act as one of only two approved assurance providers in the UK rail industry, Achilles offers audits against the 5 qualification modules as detailed in the Network Rail Company Standard NR/L2/SCO/302. These modules include On Track Plant Provision, Safe Work Planning and Sentinel. We are pleased that through our approval from Network Rail and Sentinel, suppliers passing the appropriate Link-Up audit can act as an Approved Sponsor for Track Safety Competencies.
In addition, the evolution of Achilles technology means that customers are now able to join Link-Up and also become part of the Achilles Network. Customers are able to gain free access to the new Network - learning from best practice, both cross sector and cross region. Working with suppliers of all sizes to improve standards across the supply chain ensures cross industry improvement but, it is also a great way to broaden commercial visibility and find new opportunities if you’re a supplier, or if you’re a buyer, find alternative sources of supply.
To reduce the admin load, suppliers need only provide their data once on Achilles Network and there is a simple upgrade process to become visible to UK utility, construction and oil and gas buyers.
Choosing Link-Up over other providers can help suppliers and buyers alike to have a more comprehensive approach to supplier assurance, whilst ensuring they are fully compliant with specific industry requirements, like Sentinel. Our one stop shop approach means you can cover supplier health and safety, sustainability, financial risk, ethical business practices, cyber security and compliance in one place.
