'Impressed much’ by Twain naming

Great Western Railway has named 802109 Shania Train after Canadian pop star Shania Twain, following a ‘request’ by BBC DJ Nick Grimshaw, who performed the naming at Paddington on June 20. The driving car has pink hats and train graphics added.

Meanwhile, two preserved shunters have been named, with BR Blue 03063 at the Mid-Norfolk Railway now named Paul A Mobbs and BR General Grey 08694 christened Annersley MPD at Ruddington.

And elsewhere, Freightliner named 59201 Westbury PSB 1984-2024 at Cranmore on the East Somerset Railway on June 14. The operator has also had 08530 painted in its orange and black livery at the LH Group site at Barton-under-Needwood.
