New trains into traffic enables older multiple units to switch operators

A host of new trains entered traffic in early June - principally Class 730s, ‘777s’ and ‘805s’ for West Midlands Railway, Merseyrail and Avanti West Coast respectively. This in turn has allowed other trains to move to new operators.

AWC accepted 805008 into its passenger fleet on June 2, followed by 805010 the next day and 805003 on June 4.

On June 24, 805013 was delivered from Hitachi, but had not entered traffic as this issue of RAIL went to press. That left 805006/007/013 still to carry passengers by late June.
