Thanet Parkway station in Kent is a year old

Thanet Parkway station in Kent has provided nearly 91,000 journeys in its first year of operation, with the 100,000th customer expected in August.

Since the station opened on 31 July 2023, daily services have increased from 51 to 80, with both high-speed trains to London St Pancras and main-line trains serving other London termini as well as destinations such as Canterbury, Ashford and Ramsgate.

As the service improved, the number of customers has increased by nearly 40% per month from just over 6,000 last summer to an average of 8,500 in recent months.

The neighbouring stations at Ramsgate and Minster have also seen an 11% increase in customer journeys over the last year.
