GB Railfreight has launched a second daily freight service between the Port of Felixstowe and Widnes, in response to soaring demand. The rail freight giant will now operate eleven trains a week on the route, removing an estimated 500 lorries from the roads.
This expansion comes after GBRf successfully moved over 100,000 containers through Felixstowe this year alone. The company aims to double this figure by the year's end.
The new service is welcomed by both Stobart Ports and the Port of Felixstowe, with all parties committed to increasing the use of rail freight to reduce congestion and emissions.
