MP fights for station reopening after government U-turn

A South Devon MP is hoping for a second U-turn from the government, after the new station promised for Cullompton was cancelled one day after Chancellor Rachel Reeves told Parliament that it would definitely go ahead.

Richard Foord (Liberal Democrat, Honiton and Sidmouth) has met Rail Minister Lord Peter Hendy to seek assurances that money will be forthcoming to reopen the station - 15 miles north of Exeter on the West of England line.
