Entries for this year’s National Rail Awards have been extended.
Due to demand from the industry, the final deadline to enter any of the 20 categories is now Friday April 4, including Outstanding Contribution to Society, Outstanding Personal Contribution, Safety Achievement Award, and Passenger Operator of the Year, as well as the new Accessibility Achievement of the Year category.
This new category celebrates initiatives that reduce barriers for those who have additional needs when travelling by train. Judges will be looking for entries that have clear aims to improve accessibility, address barriers to independent rail travel, and demonstrate a determination to make the railway more accessible for everyone.
For the first time it is free to enter the awards and judges are looking forward to hearing about the great work that has been going on across the rail industry.
Speaking about what it’s like to win an award, the Rail Electrification Alliance described the “huge pride” the team felt at emerging victorious in the Innovation category last year.
"We are still absolutely delighted that the judges were "blown away" with the REAL (Rail Electrification Alliance) 2024 National Rail Awards entry.
“It was great to have the opportunity to celebrate our REAL innovation achievement at the fantastic NRA ceremony."
This year’s winners will be announced at a black-tie ceremony in Grosvenor House Hotel, Park Lane, London, on Wednesday September 17.
