Direct Rail Services 68007 Valiant become the first member of the class to haul trains at a heritage railway on December 27, when it attended the Mid Norfolk Railway's winter gala.
The '68' hauled the 1100 Dereham-Wymondham Abbey, working with 45133. It then hauled the 1205 return solo, before later hauling the 1300, 1700 Dereham-Wymondham Abbey and 1405, 1805 returns. The latter trains were delayed by a points failure at Thuxton.
The '68' was also used to rescue 45133 at Rasher's Green, outside Dereham, when the Class 45 failed while hauling the late-running 1505 from Wymondham Abbey.
