Direct Rail Services 47805 John Scott 12.5.45-22.5.12 has been stored. The locomotive failed while hauling passenger trains in East Anglia and requires a new compressor.
It is thought it may make a return to traffic, however DRS has also recently stored 47841 and there is expected to be a reduction in the use of Class 47s by DRS.
Currently DRS has 47501, 47805/841 stored with 47790, 47810/813/818/828/853 available for traffic.
On January 12, DRS had no Class 47s in action at 0845, although 47790 and 47818 were attached to AGA’s ‘short set’. The following day, they were used by AGA.
