Seven Siemens e320 trains have been delivered to Eurostar and are now in traffic.
The trains, which are designated Class 374s, are being built by Siemens in Krefeld-Uerdingen (Germany), and following testing they are being delivered to Temple Mills for use on cross-Channel routes.
Eurostar spokesman Catherine Bayles told RAIL that so far they are being used on the St Pancras-Paris route, and that performance has been “good” and “in line with our expectations”. They were quietly put into traffic in November following months of testing.
The trains, which are 400 metres long, were ordered in 2010 with the first delivered by Siemens in late 2013. They have undergone extensive testing in Europe.

Plus Eurostar may even operate a new London St. Pancras International to Berlin, Amsterdam, Zurich, Rotterdam and Hamburg service by using their current Class 373 and the new Class 374 "E320" fleet.

Richard, Can you find out what the rate of refurbishment will be of the old trains? I assume they will still need some for a few years yet and it would look good if they all had the same branding. The old sets desperately need some TLC though I do think we'll be a touch nostalgic in a few years as their interior design was somehow more cosy than the new design.
