Christmas overrun report published today

Network Rail will today (January 12) publish the findings of a detailed investigation into the Christmas engineering overruns at London King’s Cross and Paddington at 1400.

The possessions closed King’s Cross for a day on December 27, while trains from Paddington were not able to run until well into December 27.

NR Chief Executive Mark Carne ordered a report to be delivered to him detailing the failings that caused these overruns by January 9.

NR said Carne will make his first public comments on the detail of the report at the Transport Select Committee on January 14 from 1400.

  • A detailed story looking at the report will appear in RAIL 766, published on January 21.
