Virgin Trains unveiled two Christmas trains at London King’s Cross on December 1, as a Class 390 Pendolino was transformed into a ‘Penguilino’ and a Class 91 was turned into a ‘Claus 91’. It was part of a nationwide competition for primary school children, run in conjunction with the Book Trust. The winners were nine-year-old Amber Maxfield from Carlisle and 11-year-old Madeleine Deakin from Copdock (Suffolk), who were at the station to see their drawings come to life.

Both Virgin Trains rolling stock fleets on the WCML and ECML look so Christmasy and it's got a nice feel to these trains. Last year VT West Coast had a reindeer like train. This year both VT West Coast and VT East Coast's trains do have that Christmas feel to their trains.
