The Samaritans’ awareness campaign ‘We Listen’ will now feature on the back of train tickets.
Printed on the reverse of paper tickets will be the Samaritans’ logo, freephone number and campaign strapline “We don’t just hear you, we listen”.
Former Olympic champion boxer Audley Harrison MBE is fronting the campaign. He was presented with the very first ticket by Rail Delivery Group Chief Executive Paul Plummer at Repton Boys Club in Bethnal Green, London, on April 25.
Paul McDonald, Samaritans’ Executive Director of Communications, Policy and Campaigns, said: “It’s so powerful to have Audley Harrison fronting our campaign. This is an opportunity to reach out to millions more people with our free helpline number. We’re pleased to have the support of the rail industry on ticket publicity as part of our wider rail programme, which aims to raise awareness that anyone can contact Samaritans, whatever you’re going through.”
Plummer said: “Millions of tickets are sold every day, so we’re only too pleased to support the Samaritans’ We Listen campaign and help make sure people know where to turn when they’re finding life tough.”
