MP leads rallying cry for Leeds tram-trains

Calls have been made for tram-trains to serve the Leeds City Region.

Leeds North West MP and All-Party Light Rail Group Chairman Greg Mulholland called for the trains following the cancellation by the Department for Transport of the Leeds NGT trolleybus scheme (RAIL 801).

Mulholland said discussions were needed on the development of a modern transport system for the region and for West Yorkshire, using tram-train technology as its basis.

Could be good for Leeds to have Tram-train and also it would link Leeds City Centre with Leeds-Bradford International Airport and to Bradford City Centre.
