A Great Western Railway Class 43 High Speed Train power car entered traffic on June 11 carrying a special wrap to mark HM The Queen’s 90th birthday.

The work was carried out at GWR’s Laira depot in Plymouth. It carries images of the flying flags of the Royal Standard and the Union.

Colin Page, Depot Manager of Laira said: “We are really pleased and honoured that one of our locomotives will be part of the Queen’s birthday celebrations. The guys at the depot have done a fantastic job of preparing the locomotive and the results speak for themselves. It looks fantastic.”
