DRS open day raises £21,000 for charity

A record-breaking £21,000 was raised by the Direct Rail Services open day on July 23 (RAIL 806). The money will be donated to local charities.

The event was held at Crewe Gresty Bridge and was opened by the company’s new Managing Director Debbie Francis.

More than 4,000 people attended the event, which featured around 20% of DRS’ fleet on display and three locomotive namings.
