Diplomatic Correspondent Catherine Philp reports that Al-Qaeda is instructing supporters to target trains in Europe and America with homemade derailment devices in a bid to regain the prominence it has lost to Islamic State.
The terrorist group wrote in its online propaganda magazine Inspire that protecting long stretches to railway was ‘practically impossible’ for authorities in countries including the UK while dedicating 18 pages to the construction of devices that ‘do not require martyrdom’ by the attacker.
