Alstom booked 19.3 billion euros of orders in the 2021-22 financial year ending March 31, with sales reaching 15.5 billion euros (£13.1bn).
The results are the first full annual results released since Alstom completed its acquisition of Bombardier Transportation, with the order intake representing a 33% increase on a comparable basis.
For the same period in the previous financial year, under difficult market conditions caused by COVID-19, Alstom reported an order intake of 9.1 billion euros. As of March 31, its order backlog stood at 81 billion euros.
