PT’s Whitehall insider writes: “One of the curses of the railway industry, in my view, is that it is littered with reports and reviews which, by and large, achieve nothing, or at least very little.” He says that, while they may be very worthy, history shows they have little impact. The McNulty Review is a recent example… He urges that Credo’s recent Ensuring a Sustainable Railway Industry report into the railways since privatisation not go the same way, explaining that it is “one of the best, most interesting reports that have been done on the railways since privatisation”.
