Italian State Railways (FS) recorded a 464 million euros increase in net profit during 2015, due largely to growing passenger numbers on its domestic high-speed services.
The main increases in revenue were from medium and long-distance services (77m euros), and FS' Netinera subsidiary which operates regional passenger concessions in Germany (153m euros). Increases in passenger revenue were partly offset by the loss FS' freight public service contract, which was worth 106m euros.
