It’s wrong to charge 50p to spend a penny

“It is unethical to charge folk to spend a penny,” says Alex Warner. Network Rail removed the 50p charge to use the toilets at Victoria station in December, to bring it in line with many of its other managed stations. Warner agrees that this is the right move, but says “it’s important that standards don’t go down the pan now that you don’t have to spend a penny to spend a penny”.
