The board of the New York Metropolitan Transportation Authority has approved its 2020-24 capital plan.
It includes a $51.5 billion (£39.72m) investment that is 70% more than the current five-year plan and the largest capital plan in MTA’s history.
Priorities include modernising the signalling on six lines and procuring almost 2,000 new metro cars.
