Luxembourg to abolish all fares for public transport
Prime Minister Xavier Bettel has unveiled plans to make Luxembourg the first nation in the world to abolish all fares for public transport.
Free public transport has already been introduced for people under 20, and will be extended this summer for all travel on buses, Luxembourg Railways services and the Luxtram light rail system.
The cost of the scheme will be partly met by closing a tax break for commuters.
