Permission to build a high-speed line in France has been annulled by the country's State Council for the first time ever. A 112km route between Poiters and Limoges will not now be built, having previously been granted permission in January 2015. The State Council, which advises the French Government on the preparation of bills, found that the economic and social assessment was flawed, and the project's 1.6 billion euros cost unaffordable.
