Shrinking sleeping car services across Europe are being followed into oblivion by some car carrying trains. The summer-only weekday AutoSlaap car carrier linking the Netherlands with Italy and Slovenia is being withdrawn with the loss of 50 jobs. "Extreme" price increases imposed by railway operators are blamed, with 30% increases in the cost of traction/track access and a 28% rise in the value of the Swiss franc. - NH
