Ontario premier Kathleen Wynne has confirmed that the Canadian province will build the country’s first ever high-speed line.
The province will now commence preliminary design work on the line from Toronto to Windsor, and has allocated $C 15m (£9.17m) to carry out an environmental assessment.
Construction should start by 2022 with commercial operations beginning three months later.
