“The time is right for the new Government to review its decision to leave the EU Customs Union,” says FTA Chief Executive David Wells. He says this view is “based on compelling evidence” and continues: “Leaving the Customs Union threatens the imposition of tariffs, border checks, more delays and bureaucracy. Remaining within it promises the continuation of free and frictionless trade with our EU customers and suppliers. Only by staying in the Customer Union can we be confident that UK plc continues to trade efficiently.”
