TRE reports on the opening of the first of a series of orbital tram-train routes in Paris. The 10.6-km line serves five intermediate stations and runs through key areas of the city’s suburbs. It’s expected to carry 60,000 passengers per day from the end of September and has cut journey times from 45 minutes to only 15.
Extensions are planned, but there appears to be financing issues.
