New Transport Secretary Chris Grayling calls for continuity and decisive action on transport. “Schemes such as HS2 are vital for the UK’s future prosperity, and I will give them the support they need,” he says. He explains that decisions about transport cannot be deferred forever because of the pressures we face on our roads and railways, with traffic and passengers at record levels. Grayling promises to “never lost sight of the fact that we are ultimately accountable to the passenger and everyday transport user”.
