A Government source told the newspaper the union action on Southern Rail has been “coordinated to inflict maximum pain on hard-working commuters”. Conservative MP Nick Herbert told them “it’s intolerable that key public services can be brought to a halt by a small number of militant trade unionists in what increasingly looks like a coordinated political action”.
