Despite sustained growth in passenger numbers continuing to be recorded throughout much of Europe, Canada’s national train operator has reported an increase in revenue only for the first time since 2008.
Revenue increased by 6.2% and costs fell by 3.3% between 2014 and 2015, enabling Via Rail to reduce its requirement for subsidy and cut its operating loss
