In our third and final Mystery Shopper piece covering ScotRail, we head out on the InterCity network to see if older trains still offer quality.
For the third of our Mystery Shopper assessments of the ScotRail system, RAIL has ventured out onto the InterCity network.
The operator markets this as Inter7City, as it connects seven major cities: Glasgow, Edinburgh, Stirling, Inverness, Perth, Aberdeen and Dundee.
While some of these services are worked by diesel multiple units of Classes 158/170s, the only trains actually branded as Inter7City are a fleet of second-hand High Speed Train sets.
These power cars and trailers became spare after Great Western Railway replaced them with Hitachi AT300 units in the latter part of the last decade.
