Dublin team gains Metro insights

Staff from Transport Infrastructure Ireland have toured the Tyne and Wear Metro’s Gosforth depot on a fact-finding mission, as Dublin prepares to build its first metro system.

The £70 million Nexus depot was completed in January. Delegates were given a detailed tour of its stores, offices, welfare facilities, control room, workshops and train stabling areas, to learn about its facilities layout and how it was built.

Work is due to start next year on the Dublin MetroLink mass transit system. It will run for 18.8km (11.7 miles) with 16 stations, and is expected to open in 2035.

Can you please write more often on the topic and provide all the information about stages of the construction of the Metro. From what place/point it starts? For how long take each stage? We need more information – by month, days, places. What to expect in every month in 2025? Public need to know all this information to make our travel plans, to know the progress of the construction. They are spending public money, so we have all rights to know all details in advance.
