Docklands Light Railway marks LGBT Pride in London

A two-car Docklands Light Railway train has been wrapped in an iconic rainbow flag livery to mark the annual Pride in London festival (June 21-28), championing the lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (LGBT) community.

Transport for London has received sponsorship from Barclays for the vinyl wrap, which joins a New Routemaster bus and black cab in a similar design. The work has been undertaken by DLR operator KeolisAmey Docklands.

The wrapped vehicles have been designed to mark the 10th anniversary of TfL LGBT+ staff network group, OUTbound.

OUTbound Chairman Martyn Loukes said “The wrapping of the DLR train completes a trio of our rainbow themed projects this year to celebrate London’s diversity. We’re extremely grateful that Barclays has paid for the train to be wrapped in our iconic design.  This is another great example of two organisations working together to celebrate LGBT staff and customers.”

DLR Director Rory O'Neill said: “We are delighted to have this iconic artwork on our trains. It has taken a great deal of collaboration with our operator, KeolisAmey Docklands to get it done but it is well worth the effort.”
