Tain station to be upgraded

A new restaurant has opened in a disused station building at Tain, on the Highland Main Line. It is jointly funded by Transport Scotland’s Station Community Regeneration Fund and the Railway Heritage Trust.

Local chef Graham Rooney sought funding to create a gastro-pub and family restaurant, and was successful in securing £210,000 from the SCRF and £105,000 from the RHT.

Tain is actually on the Far North Line, North of Inverness, not the Highland Main Line.
