30 years of London Underground poetry

The first ever poems to be displayed on the London Underground network under the Poems on the Underground scheme are now back on display.

Transport for London launched the scheme on January 20 1986 to bring poetry to a mass audience.

Now, to mark the 30th anniversary of the Poems on the Underground scheme, works by Seamus Heaney, Grace Nichols, William Carlos Williams, Robert Burns and Percy Bysshe Shelley will be shown on Tube services until the end of February 2016.
