A new app allows passengers to request assistance using their smartphone. It also allows them to update their profile and to review journeys, saving time and providing staff with real-time information.
Louise Rubin, Head of Policy and Campaigns at disability charity Scope, said: “The current booking process is something disabled people have told us stands in the way of them using the rail network, so it’s great to see rail operators improving the assistance booking system.”
The app was built by UK-based technology company Transreport. It can be downloaded from the App Store and Google Play.
