‘Paragons’ chosen as name for Hull Trains ‘802/3s’

Hull Trains’ five Class 802/3s will be known as ‘Paragons’, following a staff competition.

HT On-Board Experience Manager Patrick Tobin suggested the name for the fleet, which recognises both its significance to Hull (named after Paragon Interchange), and the word’s definition.

The first two Hitachi trains are due in the UK soon, with the first due in traffic in November following testing. All five will be in service by the end of the year.

The open access operator now wants passengers to name the individual trains.

Names should reflect the investment, and Hull’s culture. Ideas can be submitted via email to hulltrains.competitions@firstgroup.com.

I think Paragon is such a good name for Hull Trains to name their brand new Class 802 IETs.
