RAIL seeks the Seven Wonders of the Railway!

Britain’s railways are famous for incredible feats of engineering, spectacular ingenuity, and innovation that has shaped railways all over the world.

With so many aspects of the railway fitting that description, RAIL has decided to find out which ones can truly lay claim to the title of one of the Seven Wonders of the Railway.

Which of our stations, bridges, viaducts, tunnels or routes really stand out from the crowd, and what makes them so special? Is it their impressive architecture, or the challenges that were overcome to achieve the seemingly impossible?

We want YOU to nominate a contender, along with a short citation to support your chosen wonder. We will collate the nominations and invite readers to vote for their favourites. RAIL will announce the winning Seven Wonders of the Railway in a special issue later in the year.
