Three names on TBM shortlist

Three names have been shortlisted for the Tunnel Boring Machine that is to dig the route for HS2 under Long Itchington Wood in Warwickshire.

The public have until the end of June to decide between Anne (inspired by William Shakespeare’s wife Anne Hathaway), Dorothy (Dorothy Hodgkin, the first British female winner of the Nobel Prize for Chemistry), and Mary (Mary Ann Evans - bet-ter known as writer George Eliot).

The TBM will dig two bores, each a mile long, starting later this year.
